My name is Christopher Burks, I plan on taking a whole new stance on baseball writing. Because baseball has been described as poetic I plan on focusing on the story of the game and not just the stats. In this blog you will also here stories about my trips to the parks, as I hope to go as often as possible to both AAA games and the big league games. I hope you enjoy what you will read as a baseball fan and I hope that I can capture the love of the game for your eyes to read.
Today as I sat at my computer with mlb.com as my home page I watched with anticipation as the clock counted down to when pitchers and catchers report for spring training. Then at the same time I looked out my window and all I saw were piles of snow and cars sliding around, when oh when will this winter end. I remember last year when games were not rained out, but they were snowed out. Well looks like the guy who invented the internet was right (I do think Al Gore is a good guy). So this year to prevent snow from dropping down on baseball I will be the guy on the corner spraying my hairspray in the air every day until April. I figure this will do two things give baseball a warm season and force the devil rays and marlins to move and merge together so that they can acquire a real fan base before Florida sinks into the ocean.
I can not wait until baseball starts!
